Guarantee for the Effectiveness of My Prism Glasses

If your binocular vision dysfunction / heterophoria is corrected accurately, you will be able to see immediately and permanently without discomfort when wearing your prism glasses.

For this reason, I offer a three-year guarantee with a return option on all prism lenses I provide.
This guarantee applies to the prismatic lenses, not to the frame or the refraction (determination of visual acuity).

Guarantee for Permanently Stable Prism Values

In addition, I offer a lifetime return guarantee ensuring that your prism values will not increase, but remain low and stable over time.
This allows me to exclude the need for eye muscle surgery indefinitely.

This Prism Glasses Guarantee Is Unique

I have been guaranteeing the accuracy of my prism corrections since 1995, when I began working independently.

To my knowledge, no other practice in Germany or Europe offers a comparable guarantee for prism glasses.

You can verify this yourself by searching on Google for “prism glasses guarantee” or in German “Prismenbrille Garantie”.
You will find that only my website, richtig-sehen.de, appears in the results.

Because of this guarantee, people from all over Germany and many other countries come to my practice in Berlin—often after receiving several incorrectly measured prism glasses elsewhere.

Many had gone through numerous unsuccessful attempts to eliminate their symptoms.
Some even felt like “problem cases,” often with psychological distress as a result.
After their binocular vision dysfunction was measured correctly, many were surprised how easily their symptoms could be resolved with properly fitted prism glasses.

Requirements for the Guarantee

Before I can offer a guarantee, it must be ensured that your symptoms are not caused by an eye disease.
For this reason, I recommend an eye examination by an ophthalmologist before the first correction of a binocular vision dysfunction.

I cannot correct a binocular vision dysfunction if a disease affecting the eyes, or another relevant condition, is present.
Such conditions can cause the vision misalignment to change continuously, making a stable correction impossible.

Conditions that exclude the guarantee include, for example:

Eye diseases

  • Cataract
  • Glaucoma
  • Retinal or corneal diseases
  • Scotomas (visual field defects)
  • Nystagmus (involuntary eye movements)

Consequences of previous interventions or injuries

  • Eye surgeries
  • Laser treatments of the cornea or retina
  • Trauma affecting the eye

Systemic conditions and other factors

  • Diabetes with visual impact
  • Medications that influence vision (e.g., antidepressants, Ritalin)

If I observe fluctuations during the correction process and cannot stabilize the prism values, a guarantee cannot be provided. In these rare cases, an ophthalmologist must clarify the underlying cause.

Please also note: I cannot correct binocular vision if a visible eye misalignment (strabismus) is present and no stereoscopic (3D) vision exists.
This is not latent strabismus and therefore not a binocular vision dysfunction (heterophoria).

How to Recognize Whether Your Prism Glasses Provide the Correct Correction

Anyone who wears prism glasses can check this themselves—children, teenagers, and adults.

Your prism glasses are correctly fitted if you can permanently answer “yes” to the following five criteria:

  1. Do you see more clearly than before?
  2. Is your depth perception better than before?
  3. Are your visual problems and strain symptoms completely gone or significantly reduced?
  4. Are all improvements permanent, and are the prism values stable?
  5. Are there no other complaints?

If you can answer all five points with “yes” even years later, you will enjoy wearing your prism glasses — because you (or your child) will see much more comfortably and without strain.
