Patient Experiences: Prism Glasses for Cluster Headaches

On this page, you will find detailed reports from people who previously suffered from diagnosed cluster headaches and describe their experiences with my prism glasses. All of them received an official diagnosis of cluster headache from neurologists, and many were additionally treated in specialized clinics such as the Schmerzklink in Kiel, Germany or the Migraine and Headache Clinic Königstein, Germany).

IIn support groups and forums, these individuals were often unable to share their experiences, as discussions there are usually limited to medication-based treatments only. Many patients – and I as well – consider this a serious mistake. Today, there is a significant and growing number of people who have become permanently symptom-free after the correct correction of their binocular vision dysfunction (BVD) with a prism glasses prescription.

More than 80 patients share their experiences on YouTube, Instagram and in two Facebook support groups (one public Facebook group and one private Facebook group). Please note: These social media channels are in German. All of them reported an extremely high level of suffering: many were unable to work, some had been granted disability pensions, and a few had even developed suicidal thoughts due to the immense burden. All of them regained their lives with the help of a correctly fitted prism glasses correction.

In addition to these cluster headache–specific experiences, you can also find general patient experiences with binocular vision dysfunction and prism glasses here:

Experience Report: Cluster Headaches – 3 Emergency Room Visits, Then an Eye Patch Brought Relief

(Video in German)

In this video, a young man shares his experience with episodic cluster headaches, which he has suffered from since 2018.
In autumn 2024, the pain became so severe that, in desperation, he wore an eye patch for 10 days. With the patch on, his attacks almost completely disappeared. When he removed it, the cluster attacks returned — lasting up to 60 minutes.

This clearly shows that his cluster headaches were triggered by binocular vision / binocular vision dysfunction.

A Personal Experience Report on Prism Glasses for Cluster Headaches from Switzerland

(originally written in German in the private Facebook group)

You haven’t heard from me for quite some time. Today, I would like to share my experiences with my first pair of prism glasses.

For those who don’t know me yet: My name is Vanessa, I am 34 years old and I live in Switzerland. I was diagnosed with episodic cluster headaches in 2019. On average, I had to endure this suffering twice a year, each episode lasting about three months, with up to eight attacks within 24 hours. Over the years, I tried many medications, including triptans for acute attacks and verapamil as a preventive treatment. Unfortunately, from my second episode onward, oxygen therapy no longer provided any relief.

Even during remission phases, I suffered from various accompanying symptoms such as neck pain, severe pressure behind the eye, and a constant baseline headache. I had to treat these with additional painkillers—sometimes taking up to two tablets a day.

Eventually, the illness led to the point where I could no longer work in my profession and was hardly able to participate in normal daily life. Psychological symptoms such as panic attacks and anxiety also became part of my everyday reality.

Now I would like to share my experiences in full. At first, I needed some time to adjust to this new feeling of life. Such a profound change was almost overwhelming in the beginning—so many new impressions and emotions all at once.

On October 30, 2025, I had my appointment with Mr. Peschlow. I traveled by plane that morning, accompanied by a trusted person, as I was very worried about my headaches and my panic. Around noon, I arrived and coincidentally had a wonderful exchange with another group member and her lovely family—many thanks again to Mirj.

Mr. Peschlow is an exceptionally calm and understanding person. First and foremost, he simply listened to me—without pressure, without expectations. This was exactly what I had hoped for from doctors for so many years, and I finally found it with him. Even during the measurements, I noticed an immediate difference and would have loved to take the glasses home with me right away.

That evening, I traveled back home. The following days were still quite exhausting due to my baseline symptoms. Then, finally, the long-awaited day arrived: my first pair of prism glasses was ready.

From the very first time I put them on, I noticed a difference. After just a few hours, I felt a tingling sensation above my cluster eye—a feeling I usually only experience after severe attacks, when they are fading and I know I have made it through. This time, however, the sensation spread to the back of my head. It felt strange—but at the same time, incredibly relieving.

The next morning, the pressure above my eye was significantly better. Normally, after waking up, I just wanted to close my eyes again immediately. But this time: wake up, put on the glasses—and start living.

After just a few days, the eye pressure and neck pain improved noticeably. I was even able to stop taking painkillers that I had previously needed every single day.

After a few weeks, the neck pain and my long-standing protective head posture toward the cluster side disappeared completely. My head posture is straight again. Neck pain gone. Eye pressure gone. Baseline headache gone. I finally feel free—a completely new feeling of life.

At the same time, I want to honestly mention that I still occasionally feel physically exhausted. I sometimes sleep longer and much more deeply than before. To me, it feels as though my autonomic nervous system is finally recovering from years of constant struggle. However, I can feel every day how my body continues to calm down and slowly but surely returns to a normal state.

This takes time and patience—and I am consciously giving myself both. For years, I felt as though the cluster headaches were like a fog hanging over my life. Everything was dulled, and many things felt impossible.

The “devil in my head” overshadowed my life. Now, I finally have control again.

I can feel and perceive myself and my surroundings once more. I go for walks with my dog, feel the sun on my face, do household chores, and have even started working again. I had the courage to go to a fair and spend an evening in a bar with my friend—even enjoying two glasses of wine. At the moment, without restrictions or pain. Incredible.

Finally, I would like to address the critics: Please don’t listen to your fears. I know that, just like me, you have already tried many things without success. But take the journey to Berlin, try it for yourself, and see with your own eyes.

Experience Report: Chronic Cluster Headaches – Declared “Untreatable”, Now Pain-Free for 2 Years With My Prism Glasses

(Video in German)

At first, using an eye patch brought him relief. Today, he has been completely pain-free for two years thanks to his prism glasses — and he no longer needs any medication. Congratulations!

Pezhman C. wanted to share his experience in several cluster headache self-help groups, but he was not allowed to do so due to their “group rules”.

Experience Report: Helpless Helper – A Professional Firefighter Caught Between Excruciating Cluster Headaches and Medical Ignorance

I am a professional firefighter with over twenty years of service — physically fit, resilient, and accustomed to stress. At least that’s what I thought. But for about 16 years, I have been afflicted by a type of headache I once believed impossible: cluster headaches.

These attacks strike without warning, often without any clear trigger. A unilateral, stabbing, drilling pain that forces everything else into the background. When people hear the diagnosis for the first time, I can only describe it in one way:
It feels as if someone is pressing a red-hot drill behind your eye and slowly carving their way through.

As a firefighter with extensive emergency medical experience (ambulances, intensive care transport, neonatal transport, emergency physicians, emergency response vehicles), I have seen and endured a lot — but these pains push me to the edge of despair. A cluster episode typically lasts 7–10 weeks, with attacks several times a day, each lasting 30–90 minutes. Mostly at night, one to two hours after falling asleep. Sleep becomes impossible.

Medication helps — but not always. And the more potent drugs come with serious side effects. They often felt like the “last resort”, yet even they frequently failed when the demon of pain raged at full force.

Over the years I travelled thousands of kilometres from one specialist to another: neurologists, pain specialists, radiologists, alternative practitioners — often paying out of pocket. Slowly I realized that conventional medicine treats only the symptoms, never the cause. Oxygen, sumatriptan, high-dose corticosteroids and similar medications became my constant companions, with only modest effect.

Driven by the desire not to remain dependent on the pharmaceutical industry and its soldiers, I searched tirelessly for approaches without medication that might finally address the origin of the pain. I refused to surrender to a fate dictated by others — a stance some doctors labelled as stubborn or uncooperative. I experienced this judgement as sheer arrogance.

In my profession, empathy is essential. One human being helps another in need. There is even a profession legally obligated to it.

Fortunately, I eventually found video-based, uncensored experience reports from fellow sufferers who became pain-free thanks to prism glasses. All of them had been diagnosed with a binocular vision dysfunction (heterophoria) through a more precise measurement method — something standard examinations had overlooked.

Could a pair of prism glasses truly defeat the cluster-headache demon by correcting a latent misalignment of the eyes? At first, it sounded too simple — too good — to be true.

The reactions from neurologists and pain specialists confused me at first. I encountered only rejection and scepticism. The possibility that a binocular vision dysfunction (BVD) might trigger or intensify cluster headaches was dismissed outright. Some even said: „If the glasses help you, then you never had cluster headaches!”

This from the very doctors who had diagnosed me in the first place.

I decided to try the prism glasses — and that decision changed everything.
Within just a few days, the frequency of my attacks noticeably decreased.

I am deeply grateful for the people who put the patient, the human being, at the centre — as I do at the beginning of every shift. Beyond the enormous costs of long-term medication, we must ask why a medical system clings to established dogmas instead of developing further for the benefit of those affected.

My hope is that — just like the AXOMERA therapy — prism glasses will finally gain the acceptance they deserve in the treatment of cluster headaches, rather than being dismissed as quackery.

I thank Jürgen Peschlow for his tireless dedication. He gives people back a piece of the life they remember from before their illness.
I have never met anyone who suffered from cluster headaches from birth. In each episode I longed for the days before the uninvited guest appeared — the guest who barges in without warning and shows no mercy.

Experience Report: Pain-Free With Prism Glasses – Cluster Headaches Return Immediately Without Them

(Video in German)

In this video, a young woman vividly explains why she has been free of cluster headaches for more than a year while wearing her prism glasses.
During the summer of 2021, she took off her prism glasses for a short time while at the beach — and the cluster headache returned within minutes. Since then, the pattern has remained the same: with the prism glasses she is completely symptom-free, and without them the attacks come back almost immediately.

This experience made it unmistakably clear to her how closely her cluster-headache attacks are connected to her binocular vision dysfunction (heterophoria).

Personal Experience Report: Living with Chronic Cluster Headaches

This report was written by Mario in the private Facebook group:

I have been suffering from chronic cluster headaches since February 2011.

At first, I only had an attack every few weeks. Over the following two years, they became more frequent, until by 2013 they occurred almost daily. Why do I write “attack” in the singular?

Because during the first two years, I only experienced one attack per day. It was as certain as “amen in church,” because afterward I knew I wouldn’t have another attack and would be pain-free for the rest of the day. It always felt as if something on the right side of my head had to discharge.

During those two years, I tried a wide range of natural treatment methods, such as physical therapy, massages, creams, dietary changes, and more, hoping the pain would disappear naturally.

By the summer of 2013, however, the situation became unbearable, and the attacks started occurring several times a day. I had healthy teeth extracted, which did not help, and then consulted many other doctors. Initial diagnoses included Lyme disease and nerve damage. This was followed by numerous hospital stays, specialist examinations, and a wide variety of medication-based treatments. Nothing helped. No one could help me, and I was left alone with what felt like the devil’s work—pain straight from hell.

It kept getting worse, to the point where I also began to have suicidal thoughts. After that, I decided to invest money and see a neurologist who specialized in headaches. After a long conversation, she first considered the diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia, as the pain frequently shifted to my teeth at that time as well. She prescribed medication for it, but it didn’t help. After another appointment, she arrived at the diagnosis of “cluster headache.”

I was then prescribed oxygen, triptans, and lidocaine nasal drops—and for the first time, something actually worked to stop the attacks. Since then, oxygen and triptan injections have been my constant companions.

In 2017, through an acquaintance, I got in touch with a neurosurgeon at Vienna General Hospital (AKH) who had developed a novel procedure for stimulating the vagus nerve. I participated in a two-year research study, during which I had to go to the hospital once a week. Three needle electrodes were inserted into my outer ear. The points were determined using a device that measures nerve pathways. The electrical impulses followed a cycle of three hours on, three hours off, until the battery was depleted after one week and I had to return to the hospital.

Long story short: it slightly reduced the frequency, but in the end, it changed nothing. The attacks did not disappear, nor did they become significantly weaker.

At some point, I began to resign myself to my fate and thought that I would have to spend my entire life with oxygen and triptans. Suicidal thoughts resurfaced from time to time after particularly severe attacks—until last year, when my mother came across Mr. Peschlow on YouTube.

I did the eye patch test, and by the very next day, the attacks were fewer and less intense. I immediately made an appointment with Mr. Peschlow and traveled for the measurements in April 2024. About ten days later, I received my prism glasses, and after just four days of wearing them, I was completely pain-free for the first time in almost 14 years. I couldn’t believe it.

Until June 2025, I did not have a single attack. Unbelievable—more than 14 months completely pain-free! Unfortunately, the attacks slowly began to return, mildly, about once every two weeks. Regrettably, I took it too lightly and did not go to Berlin for a follow-up appointment. As a result, the attacks have become more frequent and more severe again in recent months. Now I am experiencing them daily once more. Sometimes, I may still have up to two to four days without an attack.

Mr. Peschlow explained to me that, on average, prism glasses protect against cluster headaches for about 12 months. After that, the values can change and need to be readjusted. However, I already have an appointment scheduled with Mr. Peschlow for January 20, 2026, and I can hardly wait.

I could write much more and go into even greater detail.

(Video in German)

Mr. Kafexholli suffered from up to 15 cluster headache attacks per day and was admitted five times to the Pain Clinic Königstein. Despite extensive treatment and multiple medications, nothing brought relief — the cluster headaches continued unabated. Everything changed when he received a specially tailored prism glass correction. Since then, he has had his life back: no more daily agony, no more endless attacks — and he can finally play with his children again.

Experience Report: 10 Days With an Eye Patch – 10 Days Without Chronic Cluster Headaches

(originally written in German in the private Facebook group)

Cluster headaches — I never thought this could happen

I never imagined that I would one day be pain-free. For years I suffered from cluster headaches — one of the worst pains a human can experience. The attacks came suddenly, with an intensity that completely shattered my daily life. Medication, oxygen therapy, different treatments — nothing really helped. I tried everything, and at some point I had almost lost hope of ever living without pain.

Everything changed a year ago — thanks to the glasses made by Mr. Jürgen Peschlow. Shortly after I put them on for the first time, I noticed a difference:
the pain vanished — and it has not returned to this day.
It felt as if someone had flipped a switch.

Today, one year later, I am still completely pain-free. Occasionally I feel a slight twinge, but nothing worth mentioning. I no longer take any medication, I no longer use oxygen — nothing.

My everyday life has become so much easier. For the first time, I can enjoy life without constantly fearing the next attack. Of course, I still pay attention to potential triggers, but I feel freer than ever.

I never thought I could live completely without pain. These glasses changed my life. I am endlessly grateful to Mr. Peschlow — for giving me back the life I had wished for for so many years.

And now I also know what to do if the headaches ever start to return:
I will immediately schedule an appointment with Mr. Peschlow.

If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this:
Never give up hope. Sometimes the solution comes from a direction you would never expect.

Warmest greetings from the bottom of my heart to Berlin.

Using a medical eye patch, he became completely pain-free after just one to two days.

Normally, I recommend removing the eye patch again after the third day.
But he decided not to — simply because being pain-free felt “too good” after so many years of suffering.

He tried every treatment conventional medicine has to offer, yet the suffering continued — made even worse by the strong side effects of the many medications he was prescribed. Over the years, Mr. Möhring became unable to work, was granted disability status, and eventually developed osteoporosis as a result of long-term cortisone use.

(Original report written by Domenik L. from Pinneberg in the private German-speaking Facebook group.)

Hello and good evening everyone,

Almost four years ago, I visited Mr. Peschlow in Berlin for the first time.
At that time, I had already been suffering from episodic cluster headaches for eight long and painful years.

Today I can say that those eight years remained the only eight — because since receiving my prism glasses, my cluster headaches have stayed almost completely away. So much so that I would practically say: I no longer have this disease.

Last December, I had a brief breakthrough episode, but honestly, it was hardly worth mentioning. The attacks were far fewer, much milder, and significantly shorter in duration.

I can’t even remember the last time I needed sick leave because of cluster headaches. I also haven’t taken any of the usual medications for years.

At my worst, I was taking 150 mg of cortisone per day, often for up to four weeks, because the high-dose “pulse therapy” only worked to a limited extent.

When I think back to that time today, one name immediately comes to mind: Peschlow. Because thanks to you, Mr. Peschlow, I no longer need any of that “devil’s medicine.”

I still remember exactly how I found you.

It was another sleepless night, one attack after another. At some point — around 4 a.m., after surviving yet another attack — I started Googling again for the millionth time, desperately searching for something I hadn’t tried yet. Something to finally get rid of this demon.

I searched endlessly for possible triggers in every imaginable combination.
And then it happened: I found the website of Mr. Peschlow and started studying it.
I read everything multiple times and realized there was someone out there who, even though he wasn’t affected himself, was deeply committed to this topic — someone who not only understood it, but who had developed a way to actually help patients. And thank God, it works.

Several days passed — not a single day without rereading his reports — and I even told family members (migraine sufferers) about him. Shortly afterward, I wrote a post in one of the cluster headache groups, where mentioning the name “Peschlow” today immediately leads to exclusion.

Back then, my post wasn’t deleted. In fact, for the first time, people actually talked about it.

Some found it absurd or accused it of being a money-making scheme. Others, however, were willing to have a reasonable conversation.

At that time, Mr. Peschlow himself was still in that group.
Not even 24 hours after my post, he wrote to me personally on Facebook — and that was the beginning of the end of my long, painful journey.

We exchanged messages for a few days, and eventually I thought:
“Maybe this is the one thread I need to pull to take the fire away from the devil.”

Together with my wife — heavily pregnant at the time — I traveled to Berlin to meet Mr. Peschlow and give the prism glasses a real chance.

Once there, everything went quickly — except for the eye measurements.
For this, Mr. Peschlow took all the time that was needed.
I believe it took around 2 hours. Then we talked briefly, and off we went back home.

About a week later, I received the message that the glasses were on their way — the excitement was huge!

After about a year, I returned for a correction because a few attacks were still breaking through, although even then they were nothing compared to before.
Since receiving the corrected glasses, everything has been quiet — and I am grateful every single day that Mr. Peschlow invested so much care and effort, and still puts so much energy into this whole topic.

I once told him: “They should put your face on a coin!” — and I still believe that today.

Now, after three years, some “wear and tear” on the lenses is unavoidable — especially in my line of work. A few scratches have appeared over time. I hope this doesn’t affect the effect of the glasses.
I’ll probably find that out in the coming weeks or months.
But as of now, everything is perfect and there are no signs of another episode.

I wish all of you a good start into the week and hope that everyone suffering from cluster headaches can be helped with the prism glasses and the “Peschlow Method.”

Many greetings from Pinneberg.

Experience Report: Prism Glasses and Cluster Headache

(Original report written in German – shared in the private Facebook group)

Hello dear cluster heads,

yesterday I went out, had some drinks – and I didn’t get any cluster headaches at all. I still have a very slight pressure at the back of my head, but it’s nothing worth mentioning. I honestly can’t believe that the prism glasses help me 99%, and I cannot thank Mr. Peschlow and his team enough.

Looking back at the many years I suffered from chronic cluster headaches, with up to 20 attacks per day, when even morphine barely helped… I was considered austherapiert (medically exhausted). What a difference! I got my life back. I have been pain-free for years now with my prism glasses — it’s simply unbelievable and truly impossible to put into words.

My name is Gazmend Kafexholli. I went to Dr. Charly Gaul, I was treated five times at the Schmerzklinik Königstein, and I thought no one could help me anymore.

Experience Report: “The Devil in My Head”

(Original text written by Sonja F. in 2020 for the founding of the private Facebook support group. The report is translated from German.)

The devil has been visiting me since I was 19… over and over again. For a long time, I had no idea what was happening to me. The pain was almost unbearable. Every night at the same time. Sometimes once, sometimes three times a night. And again every morning after waking up. It felt as if someone were driving a glowing dagger into my eye. The devil in my head. The eye hurt unbearably. My nasal bone felt broken. My jaw and neck ached, there was pressure at the temple. My eye swelled shut and watered. My nose ran. I broke out in sweat. Sometimes for hours. I went to a doctor, who reassured me and said that nothing was wrong with me. I was healthy. Thank you — but that didn’t help at all. You don’t imagine pain like this. These are not just “some headaches” — I have those too. This is hell on earth. And then suddenly, they disappear. Life goes on as normal. But they come back… every autumn. Sometimes in spring. But apparently, nothing is wrong with me. I’m healthy.

In 2010, a doctor finally gave the devil a name: cluster headache.
She told me it wasn’t dangerous — it just felt like it. She said sports and a healthy lifestyle were good, but they wouldn’t help. The devil didn’t care about that.
So what then?
Triptans — injections. They worked, and they worked fast. The devil kept coming back, but at least I had something to fight him with. The side effects were tolerable — until a few years ago. Then they weren’t anymore. Nasal sprays weren’t better. Tablets didn’t help. The side effects became unbearable. I ended up in the hospital because I simply couldn’t cope anymore. I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. That was the end of triptans for me.
Then cortisone. Once — and never again.

I have two small children. I need to function, at least for them. Sick notes don’t help. I would rather work overtime than endure this. But what could I do? There was only one option: endure it. Hope that the episode would end soon and that the devil wouldn’t become chronic.

Every evening I was exhausted, completely drained, yet afraid to sleep — because I knew the devil would come and drive his glowing dagger into my eye. Again and again. But I was tired. I had to sleep… until the devil returned.

He ripped me out of sleep. I jumped out of bed, hoping the children wouldn’t wake up. Into the bathroom. A cold washcloth. Half a can of energy drink. One or two strong cigarettes. Anything to constrict the vessels — to ease the pain. I felt sick, dizzy. Drank the energy drink. It was barely bearable. I wanted to jump out of the window — just for it to stop. But I have two small children who need me. I have to fight. For them. And for my husband.

I connected myself to oxygen. Cold cloth on the eye. Internally I begged: “Go away.”

Eventually, whenever he felt like it, the devil let go and disappeared. I was relieved and exhausted. Then the trembling started, and the chills. Back to bed. One episode survived. But when will he return? Tonight? Tomorrow? Will it be calm until spring? Until autumn?
How long will this episode last? Four weeks? Six? Eight? Will it become chronic?

I didn’t know. I could only hope. And then I found a new hope.

A specialist in Berlin — an optometrist. He developed his own measuring technique for binocular dysfunction (BVD). He sees a connection between cluster headache and this misalignment.
I knew for years that I had one — but my ophthalmologist said it was minor and that I compensated well.
Is this compensating actually the problem?
I now believe it is.

The theory made sense, and after the appointment I had the biggest aha moment of my life. After wearing the measuring glasses for a while, I realised how distorted my vision actually is. It took time until I could compensate again and see “normally”. My husband said he could literally see how my entire facial expression changed. The optometrist even simulated my usual vision for him — holding a lens in front of his eye — and my husband said it made him dizzy immediately and he would never dare drive like that. I am absolutely certain that the prism glasses will help. I’m looking forward to receiving them in 2–3 weeks.
And I will report back — whether the devil can be driven away.

The optometrist has already helped many cluster headache sufferers. Why not me too?
And maybe many more could be helped one day, if his theory and his measurement technique were more widely known — and if neurologists would listen…

(Video in German)

In this video, Tobias Stagneth shares his experience with prism glasses. He previously suffered from chronic cluster headaches. As with many other cluster headache patients, the eye patch was his first real relief. This led him to come to Berlin for the correction of his binocular vision dysfunction.

(Video in German)

A young woman who suffered from cluster headaches for many years shares her experience with a prism glasses correction. I am always grateful when I can help another cluster patient – thank you very much for this valuable report! She was previously treated at the Pain Clinic Kiel, so perhaps she might consider sharing her experience there as well.

(Video in German)

Even people with episodic cluster headaches experience attacks again when they take off their prism glasses … this proves how strong the trigger of binocular vision dysfunction must be when it is no longer “corrected” after removing the prism glasses.

Experience Report: Cluster Headaches Almost Gone, Ending With Images From the Pain Clinic

(Video in German)

Dear Mr. Gazmend Kafexholli, thank you very much for this very authentic report. You suffered for four years from the most severe chronic cluster headaches, were treated in pain clinics, received the strongest medications including morphine, and now—thanks to my prism glasses—you are doing so well. You are able to work again; before that, you were unable to work and on disability pension. I am just as happy about this as you are.

Experience Report: Chronic Cluster Headaches

(Video in German)

Here, Mr. Flickenschild talks about his experiences with my prism glasses. He was previously treated at the Pain Clinic in Kiel. Despite being pain-free, he was required to attend a multi-week rehabilitation program. There, he received treatments and massages for his neck muscles. Shortly afterward, unfortunately, the cluster headaches returned. At the end, his girlfriend speaks very openly about the experiences they made — very worth watching!
